As for the bird kingdom there are some rare birds of prey such as the golden eagle, hawk and golden owl.

In the park there are more than 2000 plant species. The most interesting vegetation is at high altitude, with many glacial “remains” originating from the Eurasian steppe and Balkan mountains; also some endemic plants, which make the park one of the most interesting places in the Mediterranean area for vegetation.
